Webteam: February 2019
In the early hours of Thursday 20 February, there was a partial collapse of the roof of the old chapel at St Paul's Shaw.
Masonry landed in Chapel Street and in the front carpark of the chapel.
Chapel Street and Rochdale Road have been closed for traffic whilst work is taking place to make the remaining building safe.
It is likely that some of the front of the old chapel will need to be removed.
The whole of the site remains closed for public access and the congregation continue to worship with Shaw and Heyside United Reformed Church.
